Happy #freebiefriday friends! This weeks free crochet pattern is the Alpine Ridge Dishcloth! This pattern uses the Alpine crochet stitch (pretty much Front Post Double Crochet). If you've never made this stitch before, don't worry. It's actually a very simple stitch. I explain how to do it in the Special Stitches notes below. The Alpine Ridge Dishcloth is made entirely of single crochet's, double crochets and front post double crochets. That's it! Easy right?! There's even a corresponding video tutorial to go with pattern, it will be at the end of this post. I hope you all enjoy your Alpine Ridge Dishcloths as much as I do mine! Now, without further ado...the pattern!

Supplies Needed:
-Size 4.5 mm crochet hook
-One ball/skein of each of the following. Peaches and Cream in the color Seabreeze and Lily Sugar and Cream in the color Black.
-Yarn Needle
Pattern Notes:
-This pattern uses US terminology.
-Chain 2 counts as a stitch.
-Chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
-Chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
-Finished measurement is 7 by 7 inches.
Abbreviations:
Ch.: Chain
Sl. St.: Slip Stitch
Beg.: Beginning
Sc: Single Crochet
Dc: Double Crochet
Sc Inc: Single Crochet Increase (2 sc in same stitch)
FPDC: Front Post Double Crochet
Sc: Single Crochet
Dc: Double Crochet
Sc Inc: Single Crochet Increase (2 sc in same stitch)
FPDC: Front Post Double Crochet
St.: Stitch
YO: Yarn Over
Ea: Each
Ea: Each
Rep: Repeat
FO: Finish Off
Sk: skip
* *: Repeat instructions in * *
Special Stitches:
Front Post Double Crochet
Yarn over, insert your hook from front to back of indicated stitch then back to the front of the same stitch. Yarn over, pull through 2 loops. Yarn over, pull through remaining 2 loops on hook.

Yarn over, insert your hook from front to back of indicated stitch then back to the front of the same stitch. Yarn over, pull through 2 loops. Yarn over, pull through remaining 2 loops on hook.
Pattern
Round 1: Ch. 31. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each remaining ch. Turn. (30 sc)
Round 2: Ch. 2, Dc in ea st across. Turn. (30 Dc)
Round 3: Ch. 1, Sc in same st as ch and in ea remaining st across. Turn. (30 sc)
Round 4: We will be working our FPDC in the Dc from 2 rounds below. Ch. 2, *Fpdc in next Dc from 2 rounds below. Dc in next st (working in the sc from the previous round).* Rep across until you have 1 st remaining. Dc in last st. Turn. (16 Dc and 14 Fpdc)
Round 5: Ch. 1, Sc in same st as ch and in ea remaining st across. Turn. (30 sc)
Round 6: We will be working our Fpdc in the Dc from 2 rounds below again. Ch. 2, *Dc in next st, Fpdc in Dc from 2 rounds below.* Rep across. (16 Dc and 14 Fpdc)
Round 7: Ch. 1, Sc in same st as ch and in ea remaining st across. Turn. (30 sc)
Rounds 8-23: Repeat rounds 4-7 ending with round 7.
When you finish round 23, continue onto border round.
Border: Make sure you turned your work after round 23 so that you are working along the sc side of your work.
Ch. 1, Sc Inc in same st as ch 1. Sc in next 28 st. Sc Inc in last st.
Turning your work 90°, Sc in first 3 st, Sc Inc in next st (You will be working your first sc in a sc round, your second sc in a Dc round, your third sc in a sc round and your Sc Inc will be worked in a Dc round). Continue working one sc in ea of the next 3 st followed by a Sc Inc in the next st until 2 st remain. When you reach the last 2 st, work one sc in ea of the last 2 st.
Turn your work 90°, Sc Inc in next st, Sc in next 28 st, Sc Inc in last st.
Turn your work 90°, Sc in first 3 st, Sc Inc in next st (Once again, you will be working your first sc in a sc round, your second sc in a Dc round, your third sc in a sc round and your Sc Inc will be worked in a Dc round). Continue working one sc in ea of the next 3 st followed by a Sc Inc in the next st until 2 st remain. When you reach the last 2 st, work one sc in ea of the last 2 st. Ss to first sc.
FO your work and weave in your ends.
