Happy #freebiefriday friends! Today's FREE crochet pattern is the Mini Santa Hat. This Santa Hat is approximately 4 inches wide by 4 inches high. All you need to make this mini crochet santa hat is any #4, worsted weight yarn, in the color red and the color white, as well as a mini pom pom maker. Mine was app. 2 inches wide. This free crochet pattern would be adorable to add to a dolls outfit or your amigurumi! It would also be cute as just Holiday decor! This mini crochet santa hat can be made in under an hour! Supplies Needed:

-Any #4 Worsted Weight, yarn in  2 colors. Less then 180 yards of each. (Examples were made with Mainstays Basic Yarn in the color Red and the color White)
-Pom pom maker
-Stitch Marker
-Yarn Needle

Pattern Notes:

-This pattern uses US terminology.
-Chain 1 does not count as a stitch.
-This pattern is worked in the round, which means you will not join. I recommend using stitch markers to keep your place. 

Abbreviations:

Ch.: Chain
Sl. St.: Slip Stitch
Beg.: Beginning
Sc: Single Crochet
Sc Inc: Single Crochet Increase
St.: Stitch
YO: Yarn Over
Ea: Each
Rep: Repeat
FO: Finish Off
Sk: Skip
Sp: Space
C1: Color 1 (Red)
C2: Color 2 (White)
* *: Repeat instructions in * *



Pattern


Starting with Color A (Red)

Round 1: Ch 2, Sc 6 in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Round 2-10: Sc in ea st around. (6 sc)
Round 11: Sc Inc in first 4 st, sc in last 2 st. (10 sc)
Round 12: Sc Inc in first st, Sc in next st. *Sc Inc in next st, Sc in next st.* around. (15 sc) 
Round 13: Sc in first 2 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 2 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (20 sc)
Round 14: Sc in first 3 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 3 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (25 sc)
Round 15: Sc in first 4 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 4 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (30 sc)
Round 16: Sc in first 5 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 5 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (35 sc) 
Round 17: Sc in first 6 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 6 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (40 sc) 
Round 18: Sc in first 7 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 7 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (45 sc)
Round 19: Sc in first 8 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 8 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (50 sc)
Round 20: Sc in first 9 st, Sc Inc in next st. *Sc in next 9 st, Sc Inc in next st* around. (55 sc) 

FO Red and Change to Color B (White)

Rounds 21-23: Sc in ea st around. (55 sc) 

FO and weave in ends. 

Making pom pom. 

Using a small pom pom maker, make pom pom using white yarn. Leave a long tail to sew onto hat. Refer to video to see how I made the top of my hat "bend".
