Its almost a week post Easter. Anyone else still finding Easter grass laying around? We sure are! We'll probably still be finding it in the cracks of the couch come Christmas! Ha! (Five kids, need I say more? 😉) Speaking of kids and cleaning up...does anyone else use a swiffer but don't always have the refills? That happens to me, often. 🤦 Well, today I want to share with you how to crochet a reusable swiffer pad! Just toss in the wash when you're done and have it ready for the next time you need it! Now, without further ado...*insert dramatic music* 🤣 the pattern! 

Supplies Needed:

-Size 5.5 mm/H hook

-Yarn needle

-Cotton Yarn (Example was made with Peaches and Cream yarn, I'm not sure what the name of the color was)

-Scissors

Gauge:

Pattern Notes:

1. This pattern use US terminology
2. Chain does not count as a stitch

Abbreviations:

Ch.: Chain

Sl. St.: Slip Stitch

Beg.: Beginning

Hdc: Half Double Crochet

St.: Stitch

YO: Yarn Over

Rep: Repeat

FO: Finish Off
Sk: skip
* *: Repeat instructions in * *



Special Stitches:

Puff Stitch:
YO, insert hook into indicated st, *yo, pull up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, yo, insert into same st*, repeat 4 more times. Pull through all 6 loops, ch 1.

Pattern

Instructions:

Round 1: Ch. 20. Hdc in 3rd ch. from hook and in ea st across. Ch.1, turn. (18 Hdc)

Round 2: Sc, sk hdc, puff, *sk hdc, puff* across to last st. Sc in last st. Ch 2, turn. (8 Puffs, 2 Sc) 

Round 3: Hdc, *Hdc in puff, Hdc in side of puff* across to last st. Hdc in last st. Ch 1, turn. (18 Hdc)
Round 4: Sc, sk Hdc, puff, *sk Hdc, puff* across to last Hdc. Sc in last St. Ch. 2, turn. (8 Puffs, 2 Sc) 

Round 5-19: Rep rounds 3-4. 

Round 20: Rep round 2. 

Round 21: Hdc 17, 3 hdc. Working down side, Hdc 19, 3 hdc. Working along bottom. Hdc 17, 3 hdc. Working along last side, Hdc 19, 2 hdc in last st, sl st in beg hdc. (83 hdc) 

Round 22 (Top straps): Ch 20, sl st to corner diagonal from starting point (see picture). Sl st in next st, ch 1, turn, sc in ea ch across. Sl st in 1st st.

Sl st in next 17 st (going across short end of pad) ch 20, sl st in last corner. Ch 1, turn, sc in ea ch across. Sl at to beg st. FO. Weave in ends.
