Hello again friends! I have a bonus pattern for you this week. This crochet American Flag is approximately 8.5 by 5.5 inches.  It's the perfect size to use for the kiddos doll house decor or as an add on for their super hero's! It would also be great as home decor for Memorial Day, Veterans Day or Independence Day. Supplies Needed:

-Size H//8-5.00 MM Crochet Hook
-Worsted Weight, #4 weight Yarn (I used Red Heart Super Saver in the colors Cherry, Navy and White)
-Yarn Needle
-Scissors
-Fabric Paint
-Wooden Dowel (I used a size 3/16x12)

Gauge:

3 Hdc x 2 rows=1 inch

Pattern Notes:

-This pattern uses US terminology
-Chain does not count as a stitch
-Finished measurement is 8.5 inches x 5.5 inches. 


Abbreviations:


Ch.: Chain
Sl. St.: Slip Stitch
Beg.: Beginning
Sc: Single Crochet 
Hdc: Half Double Crochet
Dc: Double Crochet
St.: Stitch
YO: Yarn Over
Rep: Repeat
FO: Finish Off
Sk: skip
* *: Repeat instructions in * *

Pattern

Instructions:

Starting with Berry
Round 1: Ch. 30. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and next 27 ch. Change to White. Ch 2. Turn. (28 Hdc)
Round 2: Hdc in next 28 Hdc, Change to Berry. Ch 2. Turn. (28 Hdc)
Round 3: Hdc in next 28 Hdc, Change to White. Ch 2. Turn. (28 Hdc)
Round 4: Hdc in next 28 Hdc, Change to Berry. Ch 2. Turn. (28 Hdc)
Round 5: Hdc in next 28 Hdc, Change to White. Ch 2. Turn. (28 Hdc)
Round 6: Hdc in next 28 Hdc, Change to Navy. Ch 2. Turn. (28Hdc)
Round 7: Hdc in next 13 Hdc, Change to Berry. Hdc in next 15 Hdc. Change to White. Ch 2. Turn. (13 Navy Hdc, 15 Berry Hdc)
Round 8: Hdc in next 15 Hdc, Change to Navy. Hdc in next 13 Hdc. Ch 2. Turn. (15 White Hdc, 13 Navy Hdc)
Round 9: Hdc in next 13 Hdc, Change to Berry. Hdc in next 15 Hdc. Change to White. Ch 2. Turn. (13 Navy Hdc, 15 Berry Hdc)
Round 10: Hdc in next 15 Hdc, Change to Navy. Hdc in next 13 Hdc. Ch 2. Turn. (15 White Hdc, 13 Navy Hdc) 
Round 11: Hdc in next 13 Hdc. Drop White. Change to Berry. Hdc in next 15 Hdc. Ch 1. Turn. (13 Navy Hdc, 15 Berry Hdc) 
Round 12: Sc in next 15 Hdc. Change to Navy. Drop Berry. (Carrying White...) Sc in next 13 Hdc. Change to White. Ch 2. DO NOT TURN. (15 Berry Sc, 13 Navy Sc)
Round 13: Working along side of flag, Hdc in side of ea row. Ch 2. Turn. (12 Hdc)
Round 14: Hdc in ea Hdc. (12 Hdc)

FO and weave in all ends. 

READ BEFORE CONTINUING.

Using Hot Glue, place dowel on last 2 Hdc rows (Rounds 13 and 14). Place glue on dowel and slightly roll side of flag so it just covers the dowel. Be careful not to burn yourself.
